What is PBIS?

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS creates schools where all students succeed. Here at Callaway, we follow the 4-Be's to improve student outcomes.
Our 4-Be's are:
Be Here-Be Ready
Be Responsible
Be Respectful
Be Courteous

Our Tiers

Here at Callaway, we are focusing on the 1st two tiers of the PBIS Framework.

Tier 1- Tier 1 practices and systems establish a foundation of regular, proactive support while preventing unwanted behaviors. This is where we are providing universal supports to all students, school wide with the issuance of Gotcha Bucks and Starballs. Students are able to redeem prizes once a month with the Gotcha Bucks they receive from our school store.

Tier 2- Tier 2 practices and systems support students who are at risk for developing more serious problem behaviors before those behaviors start. These supports help students develop the skills they need to benefit from core programs here at Callaway. With the help of our counselor, social worker, psychologist, behavioral intervention specialist, administrators, and other key educators, students are identified and receive these additional supports.
